Run
I posted briefly about the running a while back. And a little more, more recently. With all three kids home I haven't been getting miles in. I ran with everyone on Tuesday, but the boys play at the playground and I run around them in a loop for 25ish minutes and then we run home together (them on bikes and scooters) and that's how I get my 3mi in. But the park has been super crowded and for reasons that are too neurotic to explain we just haven't been doing it. Ideally both littles would be in the stroller and G would ride his bike pace car style but D revolts.
So I haven't gotten all the runs in I wanted.
This AM I was determined to get a good long run in because I haven't gotten to go. And I got my six miles in and it makes me happy. One - because endorphins. Two - because that's the longest I've run. Even though it's like cheating because of the intervals but I'm not going to up my pace yet because 1/2 marathon training starts next Saturday and the instructor said they were going to start below 4/1 so I don't want to push it up just to lower it again.
Not that I plan on lowering it. I'll run the time they tell me to run at 4/1 for my homework runs. I'll let them catch up to me.
At 4/1 I feel great. Low risk of injury. Pace is decent (10mm) though nothing to brag about. I finished the 6mi in an hour. When I'm running my pace is 9:30. But the walking portion adds an additional 30/45seconds.
Life always feel better after a run.
I look back on 2016 and it was a great year for us. We had troubles but nothing major and honestly to everyone saying 2016 was the worse year ever - GROW THE HELL UP.
And I mean that dead serious. Unless you - you, individually, the person - had some cataclysmic life event like heart surgery, or a death, job loss, illness, pain, etc. then you really need to stop saying that because there are people out there that lost a child last year. A parent. A food providing income.
Losing an election and a few baby boomer celebrities does not a bad year make. In fact - on the celebrity bit - hug your parents, yo. Dead serious here too. HUG YOUR PARENTS.
Okay glad I got that off my chest. The worst year ever comments bug me just as bad as the I wish time would slow down comments. Stop wishing that.
2017, I have high hopes for you. More miles to run. More money to save. More memories to make. More goals to achieve. Some are for me, some are for my kids, some are frivolous some are serious.
I pray we keep our health and our loved ones. As long as we have our health we really do, have everything.
