Romper!
So I made HP weekend* shirts. And the smallest size I could get for G was a child's small. Which is like what I expect he'll wear when he's 8. So then via pinterest (and Meryl!) I found this handy tutorial to turn the large shirt into a romper.
Now I had trouble with the snaps (I'd never used my snappy thing before) and I bent one wrong and now it won't fit hence the one that's hanging loose around his leg pictured. And the hem around the legs is wonky. But he can wear it and not look like a vagabond!
Isn't it just terrific! I may stitch up the arm holes some, because they are HUGE. And I'm fairly confident he can wear this well into next summer. Unless my skinny minny decides to beef up massively between now and then. But since he's gained, oh, 3 pounds in 6 months (that's being kind - it's more like 3 pounds in 8-9 months), I highly doubt that.
*What is HP weekend you ask? HP weekend is Harry Potter Weekend, when my entire family is coming into Dallas so that we can all go see the last installment of Deathly Hallows together. And yes, it's ridiculous to fly / drive thousands of miles to watch a movie with your immediate family. And no, G is not attending. He will be at a friends house. And this year, instead of this photo we'll have one in matching red, HP shirts. And they rock. And you're jealous.
But my favorite story of late is someone asked Lewis what he was doing that weekend and he pulls it up and says "HP weekend? I'm not sure what that is, maybe I have an HP [as in Hewlett Packard] event." HAHA. And I'm standing right there and I said, no sweetie, that's Harry Potter. And the person we're talking to has an expression that says, "say what?" Too funny.
