16 Days in July

I'm not going to out these in chronological order because part of being at the lake and on "lake time" is forgetting what time it is.  And I think we did that.  Also - I love this last one of the boys.

We went down on Wednesday.  Lewis had to be in Houston and then Boston the entire week so if we're going to be a single parent family we might as well join our friends at their lake house.  They had a blast hanging out with their friends and swimming and boating and learning to stand up on the Zup board.  Which was really fun.  It may not teach you to ski, per say, but it did help with the standing up and confidence boosting.  Lewis is a newbie at water sports, so he needs more practice!

Lewis joined us late Friday afternoon and then we left together Sunday afternoon.  We went home and then Monday Lewis headed to Houston.  I stayed for a doctors appointment then drove the kids down.

The boys are into Lamborghini's right now.  I am not sure why.  This one was part of a  exotic rental car place that we went by.  And then after that we saw two "in the wild!" A red one and a white one just like this one.

These aren't in order either.

We did a lot but we didn't really do a lot.  We picked this hotel because of the pool and rec activities.  So we did the pool just about every day and we drove dad to some of his meetings and things so he didn't have to uber.  The only real planned activity was the Astros game on Saturday night (which is also why I picked this week for this trip).

We went to the Natural Science museum and that was a big highlight for me.  It was amazing and they have a ton of dinosaurs.  It was a pricey museum (boo) but worth it.  The children's museum has a reciprocal relationship with the Perot Museum so we got in free there.  Other than that we didn't do a lot of "activities."  We did some back to school shopping and hung out.

Lewis has to be in Houston a lot towards EOY.  Over the summer it's fairly easy for us to go with him.  He gets access to the lounge at the Marriotts so we get free ("free") breakfast and snacks and things, so we don't have to eat out every meal.  We still ate out too much this past week, meeting him for lunch and things.  But it's important time with dad we wouldn't have had otherwise.  So hopefully it was worth it and he was still able to get some work done.  We drove home last night and this AM he got back on a plane.

It's exhausting.  But it's the life right now.

In total we spent 16 days in our home this July.  Lewis has been home 6 days this month.  That stat is depressing.  We're working on it.  In good news, we were together more this month we just weren't together at home.  It's a busy season.

Now.  On to B2S and getting someone ready for kinder!
