Sweet
Going through pictures for her "first year" baby book and the early days her naps looked mostly like the above here. Me holding her, sitting in my bed, trying to catch sleep myself. It's bizarre to think that about this time last year I was chained to the baby, morning noon and night.
She was always such a doll. But she wanted to be held. Like constantly. I'm sure it didn't help that I wore her around all the time. Baby girl hated the car seat. I'd get to preschool after just 15min in the car but her screaming the whole way just made that so very stressful. Thankfully that stopped somewhere in the 3rd month. Can you imagine ... 2 months of screaming every time she got in the car!
So things like that I don't miss. I don't miss the short "snaps" which is a nap that's only 20-30min long and doesn't really allow you to get anything done. I don't miss the constant worry over "is she getting enough" or if she had silent reflux or other reflux or if her head was rounding out properly.
But the little baby. The little baby sleeping with her head against my shoulder. Her little mouth breathing in and out against my neck. Her tiny weight. Being trapped under a baby was a real thing and not often convenient. But I'm glad I held her as much as I did. Who would ever regret such a thing? I'm also glad she's sleeping peacefully in her own crib at this moment, and that I can lay her down and walk out and she gets herself all nice and cozy and sleeps. All on her own.

Those were all taken at about 2 months old. She'll be a year in 25 days. Flash and it's gone.
