Halloween
Because it was her first ... we'll start with sweetie face. These pictures were taken today, after the candle was left inside the pumpkin all night long! It cooked a bit.
We had a standard Halloween I think. The kids took late naps, I woke everyone up at 4:30. We headed over to a friends house to have some bounce house and pizza fun.

It was fun. But D - as you can see in the above picture - was mesmerized by this house at the end of the cul de sac that had a flashing light. And at one point he was pushing the blue car and I was holding the baby, and then a minute later there were trick or treaters and a minute later he was gone. It was terrifying. He had wandered into the house with the flashing light and they text our friends and we found him quickly but gee whiz kid. Give your mom a heart attack.
Then - as we were trying to take a family picture - G went to tackle his Dad and almost knocked Julia out of his hands. He caught her. But gee whiz kid give your mom a heart attack.
The rest of the night went like this ...

A blur.
And when we had had enough fun we said goodbye and went home.
For her part I think youngest daughter had an okay time. Her favorite experience was getting pushed in the blue car. As with younger brother she just loves to be included. It always amazes me how he and now she just lights up when there is an activity that they can be included in too. It's like realizing they do get what's happening around them but they just can't communicate it.
D had a great time. He didn't really get it at first. But he knew that G was excited so he was excited. And then they did the first house and he was like ... wait what's going on? And then the next house. And then he was running trying to keep up and yelling trick or treat to everyone who would listen. He had a marvelous time.
G was miles ahead of everyone and it was an issue. G wait. G wait. G wait. Wait for brother. Wait for brother. Wait for brother. Wait for brother. Wait at the corner. Wait at the corner.
Like no wonder I called it earlier because holy gosh it got old.
I'm not sure how long we'll do the joint parent trick or treat. But it seems to be what everyone does now. Big block parties and then everyone goes together. Not what I remember. But. There it is.
Fun times.
Next year they want to be batman.
