Fever for 8 Days Gets you Admitted

G got a fever a week ago Saturday.  Nothing major.  100.8.  I left it.  Early to bed.  The next morning, it was 102.7 and he said he had yuckies in his throat.  We went to the clinic.  I was positive it'd be strep.  It wasn't.  We went home.

By Tuesday he was no better.  To the pedi.  Viral.  If he still has fever in a few days bring him back.  Thursday his fever went back up to 103.  Friday it was 103.  To the pedi.  Positive strep test.  Wahoo. A diagnosis.

Three doses of amox and fever still 104.  His fingers were peeling.  He wasn't himself.  8 days of fever.

We went to the Children's Hospital ER.

I'm going to spare the details from this point forward but he was admitted to the hospital on Saturday night.  Lewis and I tag teamed and my brother helped.  I had friends that stepped up and made G feel special.  He was on quarantine and couldn't leave the room.  By yesterday (monday) he was miserable.  Lewis too, who had been stuck with him.  I was back and forth with the littles.

It all worked out.  It wasn't the scary horrible thing they thought it could have been.  It was a virus on top of strep throat and it was just a lot for his little body.
