Sweetie face is 8 months old as of Monday.  Can't even get my head around it.  I am in that phase where life is good.  Mom is starting to get rest again.  Starting to cook again.  Starting to do meaningful activities with the bigger kids again.  Go on dates with the spouse again.

It makes for a better mom.  But that's a different post.

She hasn't really added a ton to her "I can do" list.  She's sitting up great.  She has totally started separation anxiety.  She freaks out if I leave her eye sight and she doesn't want me to.  She's started giving strangers the stink eye.  She has a glare that is very withering.  And if she doesn't like you you sort of know it right away.  Or if she's in a bad mood, that's probably more accurate.

She is a petite thing.  People are always talking to me about how tiny she is.  She is chunky on her frame but she's just a wee thing.  Though every time I pick her up from her bed she's grown an inch.  She just gets bigger every time.  It's crazy.

She's in 6 month clothes but the length - as mentioned - is starting to be too small in some of the well washed outfits.  It's not time to switch but I did buy her winter gear in 9mo so lots of times she's just in the bigger size.  She's still in size 2 diapers.

She babbles sometimes.  Maybe a W sound?  I'm not sure.  She "sings" and screeches.

Still does not love purees.  We had better success with banana a couple days ago.  But after it's gone in the fridge she won't touch the food again.  Temperature? Texture? I don't know.  I fret only slightly she'll never eat food.

Because of the excellent sitting up we have moved to our chair at the table.  Also she hates the rock n play - she never liked it - and that's what I was using to contain her while I was in the kitchen and it wasn't working any more so this is better.

Bananas.
Approval? Disapproval?  It didn't get entirely spit out.

The boys are enjoying her new maturity.

In other new developments ...

We sat up in the tub with the boys the other day.  D was amazed.  This won't be a regular thing because it's still too slippery for miss low balance.  I may get one of those tub chairs.  But she's still liking the baby tub so if it ain't broke ...

D's increasing maturity is apparent lately too.  Potty training is progressing but it took major hits when everyone got sick.  So we're working harder now.  He does pretty good but I have to stay on him.  That'll be true for the whole year I'd imagine.

I digress.

Her hair is growing like crazy.  I cut off a few stray hairs that were making a rat tail but other than that I'm advised to just let it be.  I'm not sure.  The infant hair (what's in her eyes) drives me crazy.  I can't keep it up all the time because those hair ties are a choking hazard and it's just a pain.  But at the rate it's growing it'll be down past her ears by the time she's one.

Sleep club - we don't talk about sleep club.

Teeth - no teeth yet.  I am setting aside my prophesizing on this front.  I can still see and feel the bottom two.  And it's all swollen and yucky.  Only those teeth know when they'll show up.

Eight months.  It is crazy how fast time flies.
