I need to redo the Disney one because I'm not enamored of it but she is pretty cute regardless of the discoloration issues. I did that photo in a hurry. It shows.
At 5 months we are still pretty much doing the same "tricks" we were doing at four. She's not rolling front to back as much as I would have thought, but she does roll back to front and then quickly assesses that she hates that and tilts back. She has a weird kind of inch worm motion that gets her moving, but it's not with purpose. We shall see what the next month brings.
I have not started solids. I am a bad mother. I never did a lot before six months anyway (though I did more with G than D) but I had at least introduced the concept of things going in the mouth. Julia is reaching for my food and cups and wants to drink out of my glass. It's time for a sippy cup at the very least.
In sleep we are so much better. So, so, so much better. I quite trying to wean off swaddling. I just said ... to hell with it. And made a bigger swaddle blanket. She breaks out of it, but she's still sleeping. So with her legs out and kicking she still sleeps. With her arms out and moving, she is still sleeping. My only issue is her sleeping with the blanket which is a no-no but ... as I said. She's sleeping. On a great day she sleeps 730 - 6am. On a good day she sleeps from 730 - 4am. On a normal day she sleeps 730 - midnight and then 1am - 6.
All of those scenarios are fine with me for the next few months.
She is a sweetie girl who reaches for everything and loves to be included and smiled at. She giggles and laughs when you nuzzle her face. She loves to try to sit up so she can see everyone. She does pretty good in the bumbo.
Last night she was trying to sit up on the laying down side of the tub so I moved her to the sitting up side. She really liked it.
She's playing with toys and batting at things, reaching and pulling things into her mouth. She drools way more than I remember with David. And she's somewhat of a thumb sucker!
What is it about babies grabbing their toes? I just think it's stinking cute.
Growing fast!
