First Solids

She has been reaching and gumming at my water and utensils for the past several weeks.  And lately she'd been a bit belligerent that we weren't sharing.  Especially our drinking glasses.  Sweet Nila Joan thought it was clearly time for solids for the little sweetling and gave her spaghetti, much to the horror of all.

So I took Nila Joan's advice and we started with some rice cereal, because I am not original.  And mostly the first three or so times are just for "the spoon goes in your mouth, darling" and "yes it has particles on it that are fit for swallowing."

To those ends, I believe we were successful.

But I do think that rice cereal is NOT one of this girl's favorite foods.  This picture makes me laugh.  She kept smiling and reaching for the spoon but then the food would touch her tongue and she'd make the most horrific face.  I about died laughing.

She is trying to sit up pretty.  She can only do a few seconds before she topples and she's very wobbly.  But she is just the sweeties little girl.  She loves people and is full of smiles.

Working on our tripod.

She is not a difficult child to love at all.  Such a joy.  And constantly told how beautiful she is.  Folks love her sweet face.  I hope she carries some of this sweetness into her personality later (you know, when she's 2/3 and time out is her permanent residence?).
