Sprinkles

This past weekend I was thrown a "sprinkle."  Which is just a silly word for having a baby shower, which if you think of it is also just a silly word for having a party.  I was so nervous about having a third - yes third - shower that I really just dreaded it.  It starts to feel like you're just asking people to buy you things and I don't want people to feel obligated ever to do that.  I made the choice to have these kiddos ... I can buy them diapers.  Promise.

But there were so many people who wanted to celebrate Sweet Unnamed Girl.  And my sister and mom and friend were kind of adamant about throwing it whether I wanted it or not.  SO I tried to be a good sport and just be gracious.

Grace is not my strong suit.

Either way.  We had the sprinkle at a very nice restaurant near by and I had about ten friends show up and it was diapers and clothes for little sweetie.  So many nice little outfits that I can't really wrap my head around that there's a being in my belly that will one day wear said items.

Really?

And I sound like a cry baby but I whine about my back hurting and wanting the baby to be here and to be done ... but I really just want things to get started.  The anticipation of the rise in work load and the sleep deprivation is just ... hard.  I just want to get started.  But I want the baby to cook.  And I do enjoy sleeping for at least six hour stretches.  Or four.  I'm at least guaranteed some sleep these days.  In soon to be days, who knows.

So when asked at the shower about how I was feeling I'm sure I sounded like a crazy, whiny, ungrateful person.  I hate saying "I'm ready to be done" because God has a funny way of answering such things and I don't want to jinx anything.  I'm ready for a healthy baby to be born, is more the thing.  I'm anxious.  And therefore want things to get rolling.

I am grateful that I have the friends and family that I have.  They didn't have to show up and they did and it's always just so nice when people show up for you.

G and D enjoyed helping me sort through and put things away today.  They liked looking at all the tiny pink and frilly things.  G kept looking to make sure there were enough pajamas.  I'm not sure why.  There was a dress and he said something cute about how she'd need one dress.

One?  Cute.
