Not much new to write at this point. In the home stretch? It's been a long time. If you look back at when you find out you're pregnant, and then you get to 35wks, it feels like an eternity.
I have all the normal, 35wk complaints. My back hurts. This baby lives in my right hip somehow and it hurts. The weight just makes everything hard to do. It's hard to bend over, it's hard to lift kids, it's hard to have patience.
The anticipation of what's coming is just ...agonizing. I'm scared of labor in that it's unknown. I'm more worried about dying in labor than I ever was previously. I have so much more going on now. I have to be okay. I have three kids to raise. I push all that down I know it's not productive but ... there it is.
Speaking of ...

Who can believe he's almost 5? I didn't bother doing all the math for how many months he is because that seems silly. I can't get over how fast he's grown. I've seen it all, but it's still flown.

And then there's this guy. Holy smokes. All of a sudden he's just his own person doing his own thing. He still has fits and cries over ridiculous things (because he is just 2.5 after all) but they are fewer and fewer. He's understanding more and more cause and effect (do this, get this) which is so helpful because my whole parenting style is about rewards and consequences! I don't know another way to do things.
He's a sweetie. And they both are my whole world. Which is so trite and cliche but there it is.

These were a gift, and really the first teeny pair of shoes for the small thing. Can you believe feet fit in those things?

When I took this picture it occurred to me that at some point in the near future, there will be another set of feet to photograph. And a little girl, different from these two but sharing their genetic code, will be here to laugh and pull hair and scream and roll her eyes that the camera is out, yet again. How weird is it that where once there was no one ... there grew a person, and suddenly there they are.

These two. It's crazy. Soon a third.
Five weeks and counting.
