Boys / Girls
I imagine this will be a post topic in months to come, in many different forms. Today, as I stood outside both of the kids rooms, it just struck me ... boys room ... girls room. Wow. Who ever thought I'd have that? I mean when did I get old enough to have three kids? And more than that, old enough to be on my (more than likely) last baby?
It's eerie.
Baby girls room isn't done. Those curtains aren't staying because I splurged on new ones. There are no pictures on the wall and no decorations. The lamp shade is still baby blue and I'm not really sure I'm going to invest in a new one. I just know, third time around, that that really does not matter. Anything I put in here is for me, and not her. A nice, peaceful place for me to be and relax and bond. That's why we decorate nurseries.
Eventually, when they get to be 4 1/2, they have their own ideas about decorating. As noticed above, it almost always involves spiderman in my house. A character he's never seen a movie for or read a comic book of. And yet he's obsessed.
Brother, though also enamored of the angsty teenage hero, is more bendable. Or cares less about what's on the walls. They enjoyed taping pictures of each other to the wall. You can't see that here but it's on the opposite wall.
Two rooms. Three kids.
It's coming up quick.
