A Banner Day

Little man here.  Oh how he cried at "school" drop off.  Which for him is just MOPS childcare every other Wednesday.  He'd wail and cry and cry the whole time.  You could hear him down the hallway.  He got quite the reputation.  He screamed when I picked him up.  He was just unhappy.

Then last time, two weeks ago, he cried only a little bit when I dropped him off.  He didn't cry the whole time.  And then when I picked him up he was calm.  Just slightly teary.  So an improvement.

And then today.  Today I handed him his name tag and told him it was his ticket.  This seemed to please him.  So we walked to his class and I opened the gate and he ran right in and showed his two teachers his ticket.  Not a tear.  Not a thought of mom.  Just handed over his things and went on his day while big brother and I slinked away.

When I picked him up, he was playing with a truck while they read a book.  He saw me and waved.  But it seemed to take him a while to realize it was now time to go.  He jumped up and asked for his backpack and we pranced out happily.  He exclaimed, "mama had fun!" and I said oh I'm so glad.  And there was something about trucks and toys and friends.

When he turns a corner, boy does he just turn it.  Which - if I'm honest - goes well with the rest of his personality.  Go big or go home.  Pray it continues.

He is a sweetie pie.
