Truly, technically, if one wanted such details, he won't be two until 11:45PM.  The world does not care about such details.  Only mother's who have recently pushed out said children think about such things.

This morning he woke up to balloons.  Which, according to wise older brother, are mandatory for all birthdays.  As are presents.  We go to birthday parties … he says, "Mom, there will be balloons!" And I say, "G I don't know if his mommy knows that rule."  He looks thoughtful, "I will tell her."

There were balloons.  There were unwrapped gifts in said balloons.  There was madness and fun and hitting of balloons with golf clubs.  There were chocolate chip pancakes.  More water table fun.  Then we went to see the fishies.  Because the two year old loves fishies.  And it was super fun.  I got lots of arty type shots because I followed the rules about flash photography, but these ones above I thought were cute.

We had friends that met us at the aquarium.  Then we all went to lunch at Rain Forest Cafe.  Which is kid heaven and parent … well you know.  Ugh.  But they do love it.  We came home.  We had quick naps (which were just long enough for me to clear the data card, make a cake, and do some dishes) then we had to have a two year old freak out (from that not long enough nap).  But there's not much sugar can't cure so there were a few oreos and some water melon.  More balloons were hit with golf clubs.  The 4yo tried to color code the balloons (blue here, yellow here … NO!  STOP MOVING!)

Then there was cake, and I have a picture up on instagram of him using a fork and I posted it with it's intended caption … two, so much more civilized than one.  But very quickly there after that he just used his hands.  It was pretty funny.

He still has a double ear infection that's bugging him.  So his appetite is off.  But I think, even with all of that, he had a great birthday.  All the gifts were a hit (I got two, the golf clubs were from grandma, and he got a fishing game from grammy which we are eager to try!) with both kids.

Which is an issue with having two boys.  At this age, and probably others, it's very hard to get them gifts that are "just theirs."  Everything I looked at getting I just knew G would steal.  And then … well seriously we have enough.  I don't want motorized anything and RC garbage is just garbage.  Legos are good but again, G will steal.  Anyway it's a struggle.  I ended up replacing the water table that the hail ruined and upon inspection decided that D's favorite toys when alone are still the cars and racing.  So I found a cheap little cars track.  G did covet it.  But learning about siblings birthdays is probably a process.
