Sweetie face here is going to be 23mo in August, in a little over 2 weeks.  He is almost two.  I can't believe.  As slow as months 4 - 8 go, the rest of the time just flies.  I guess when you're not awake 20 out of 24 hours the days pass quicker.

He is similar to his brother.  They are different, but similar.  D is smart in ways G was not at this same age, probably because he has big brother to show him how.  When faced with an obstacle he is more likely to try brute force than G ever was.

He's talking more than G was, which I just don't see how that's possible but I think it's true.  Full sentence, meaningful sentences.  "I need help mama," "Can I watch a show," "What are we doing."  He says "sorry ma," or "sorry marmee," and it just makes me happy.

He still refuses to say I love you mama.  He is fluent and full of love for daddy and Grady.  None for mama.

It's okay kid.  I keep the snacks.  I'll get it out of you eventually.

He eats pretty good but he's gotten into the toddler picky phase.  Refusing things he once loved just for spite.

He's moody.  Though this improves the more his communication improves.  It also improves the more he learns that mama will not tolerate it.  We do time out for his tantrums.  Which are full on, lay on the floor flailing things that are worthy of Oscars.  It's comical, really, but I can't laugh because I'm General Mommy, trying to raise up men.  And I'm determined that my boys behave.  D is more of a challenge than G was, or more than I remember.  But I find my memory is faulty.  And they are probably more similar than I recall.

D minds pretty good, as far as two year olds go.  But I don't tolerate much.  And no one likes mean mommy.  Tears have no effect on mean mommy.  Much to G's dismay.  They do work on Daddy.  Who was refusing to give horsey rides because of a bad sun burn from the lake, but G started crying and he started to give in.  I glared him down.  And told G to stop being manipulative.  Daddy said no.

They are fun.  And I can't believe D is almost two.  He is my cuddle bug and my moody child.  My good eater and my smiley handsome boy.

Where did my babies go?
