I wish the world could see my boys playing right now.  The padwan was his airplane, an orange crop duster.  And Master (I believe I've just discovered new internet names) has his airplane and they are walking circles in the living room, one flying away from the other as the green "bad guy" is trying to shoot down the orange crop duster.  Padwan is laughing, and Master, in his best deep voice (which sounds kind of like he's constipated or something) is saying things like, "pow! ahhh!  Get him! He shot my airplane!  Guards!  After the airplane guy!"

I no longer wonder why Andy's mom filmed him playing.  This pretend play is awesome.  I got the camera out the other day when he was playing cops and robbers, and it's my favorite thing now.

All the characters have voices.  Most of them end up in jail or escaping from jail or running from Police Officer G.  Right now their's a dog fight in the sky between the green mean guy and the crop duster.  Padwan is just so thrilled to be included.  He worships Master, and his Daddy.

This Mother's Day my heart is over flowing.  We have been so unbelieveably happy lately.  And it's all because G is eating.  To say we are over the moon is an understatement.

The day before Mother's Day,  I made one meal.  I made salmon with butter and dill, something pretty bland for that fish but I knew I was asking a lot.  But as I was cooking I just kept thinking, go big or go home, right?  Worst case he doesn't eat it and I make him a peanut butter sandwhich.  Best case …

We had rice (with so much butter your doctor would cringe) and peas, carrots and beans.  Two things he'd already eaten; one at therapy and one at home.  The veggies … he's seen them a ton.  I put them on his plate all the time but the tears, mama I can't eat those.  Move them.  Move them.  I'd move all but three onto brothers plate (who used to eat them, sigh).  But maybe seeing them that often … he pops them like they are nothing now.  He told me likes green beans better than peas.

Me too kid.  Me too.

I put the food on the table family style.  All four of us at the table with our plates and silverware.  It wasn't fancy, it looked kind of sad in the pictures.  I actually hate those pictures I took because it does look sad.  But it wasn't.  It was probably the happiest day since Thanksgiving 2011 when we were told something serious was wrong.

He ate it.  He ate five bites of salmon and a whole serving of rice and veggies.  His brother didn't eat that great but he's in that lovely picky I choose what goes in my mouth and I want COOKIES! phase.  With him I do the more traditional approach.  Fine.  Get down.  When you're hungry your food will still be here.  And 9 times out of 10 that works for him.

But Saturday night my family ate all together.  Oh how I prayed for that day, when I could make one meal and serve every body off it!  It seemed like it was so far away.  But it wasn't, it was last Saturday. I still can't believe it.  Lewis was amazed.  And we fussed over G and were so "impressed" and he got stickers and prizes and we took them both out for snow cones.  Big hit, snow cones.

And this morning he ate half an omelette.

I'm just floored by the complete turn around.  I prayed and hoped it would get better but it's so amazing to see.  And it didn't just happen overnight (though it certainly feels that way) everything I did in the last three years has built to this point.  I kept trying.  I didn't give up.  I could have just accepted, these are the things he eats, and let it go.  But I didn't.  I didn't put him on the medicine so he could have a limited diet.  I put him on the medicine so he could eat anything and everything.  And the only way the medicine is worth it is if he eats.

I really can't believe it.  I have to ask Lewis … did I just make it all up?  Was it really not that bad?  And he says no it was awful, and this is amazing.

The medicine was the right decision.  The year off from vomiting and from forcing new foods was the right decision.  The trying food therapy was the right decision.  It was all in perfect timing.  And it's a miracle and I'm so glad.  Hallelujah!!!

On Mother's Day the boys gave me clothes and a card and G brought me flowers.  He proactively told his daddy he needed to go get mama flowers for mother's day.  He picked gerber daisies.  Pink ones.

But him eating dinner and making that family meal possible on Saturday was my present.  And I hope to remember it for a really, really, really long time.  This was the best Mother's Day ever.
