Everything Shoots

I think if my boys could hold the Y chromosome they would pretend it had a trigger and point it at me.

I'm not opposed to guns.  I'm opposed to violence.  But I'm not opposed to guns.  The kids entertainment choices are really Disney and PBS limited.  But Buzz Lightyear has a laser.  And that has to be where this all comes from.  Well that and their Dad.  Who highly encourages rough play.  There's really no point in attempting to reign that in.  The kids love it and it's bonded them with their Dad.  I can not control everything.

D now holds his arm out at me and pushes the button for his "laser" making pschoooo pschoooo noises at me.

But really it's been going on long before that.  Cars crash into each other.  Balls make exploding sounds when they land.  He's 20mo.  I find this fascinating.

Someone asked me if I thought my boys were very similar the other day.  Not looking but in personality.  And I said it was too soon to say but they are interested in the same things.  Trains, trucks, cars, balls, roaring, tackling, wrestling, super heroes, etc.  She said her kids were completely opposite.  one likes all those things and the other animals.  Mine like animals ok.  But like them better if they are in trains or trucks or have a lot of teeth.  At the zoo the favorite thing to do is the monorail.

D is talking.  Trash trucks, need help, juice box (he's a juice-aholic), train, mama, dada all the common words.  Ball.  Chicken.  The big one is "need help, need help, need help."  With everything.  Lordy he's needy.  Need help need help.  Climbing on the couch, "need help need help."  Standing at the table to be lifted up, "need help need help need help."  Carrying a toy that's heavy, "need help, need help, need help."

I think he's also gotten taller.  I mean duh, of course he has.  But his little belly is getting smaller so I think there's been recent growth.  His feet look narrower too so maybe they've grown.  Shoes, for the interested, do not pass on well.  D has wide feet and G had narrow.  So I get to buy all new shoes.  Which someone told me you're supposed to anyway because of how worn out soles affect walking / back / all that garbage.

I think people who worry about stuff like that and organic this or that are lucky they have so few worries that they have to go look for things to worry about.

Both my kids lick.  It's so wierd.  Do all kids do this?  D just walked up to me and licked my knee.

They are at a really good age.
