Happy Easter

Happy Easter!  I wish I could say we're going to be doing lots of wonderful activities, but G is on day 2 of a fever and cough, and his brother seems to be under the weather too.  We stayed home yesterday and watched movies.  All G's favorites.  This is the kind of sick that knocks him down.  In four years I am blessed to say he's only ever had an illness like this twice (this being the second time).  And considering, that's pretty good I'd say.

So no church for us.  Which makes me sad.  But his fever was still 100.5 this morning.  No church.  No family time or dinner.  An ordinary (sick) day.

Sigh.

They love their gifts.  G I bought some more Cars die cast  cars off the garage sale site.  D I bought a stuffed Buzz to hopefully go in his bed with him.  He is more excited about the things G is excited about (the cars) so Buzz, as pictured, has been neglected.  But he's meant to stay in his bed anyway.

G keeps saying, "This is a very good Easter!" So I must have done okay.

Yesterday was D's first cognizant, "my-pal-is-sick" experience.  When we were trying to get the fever down (from 103) G just laid on the couch, listless and tired.  Unaccustomed to such docility, D kept pacing back from the toy closet to the couch, playing with G's favorite items.  G made no response.  Usually he'd have ripped the toy from him or shoved him or something.  So D stayed close to the couch, leaning over to be close to him, trying to climb up.  It was sweet.  He was clearly concerned about his brother.  He didn't stray too far from him until G started to perk up and even then they wrestled a bit and watched tv on the floor together.

D did seem to like us all just staying home and doing nothing.  He was the most active of us all, just flitting between the three of us getting hugs and exclaiming about this or that.  He's started saying trash truck and fire truck, plane.  All animals are dogs.  But he did say tiger the other day.  He will be babbling around town with G before too long.

Happy Easter!  I wish we were healthy but I'll settle for sick and happy.
