Round Up

… Chalupa is quickly turning into a person.  It's miraculous.  His face changes almost every time I pick him up from his crib.  He says lots of things.  He puts many "words" together, but really it's mostly him trying to make words, so sounds?  But we've heard him say peanut butter, again, more, G****, daddy, mommy, the list goes on and on.  He is very bright.  He says ya when you ask him a question (sounds like da) and he says no.  Which was funny today because he was fussing at me and I said do you want to go to bed? No, no, no! G looks at me, mommy he said no.  Yeah I got that too.

… There were a magical few minutes, maybe five, where both kids were cuddling with me on the floor (I am sick) while we watched a movie.  Chalupa is my cuddler.  G usually prefers to be on his own.  But today he laid with us.  Chalupa's influence probably.  But he will sit with mommy and cuddle.  G may have at this age too and I've just forgotten as time's gone on, but his maturity means he does less of this now.

… There are fewer fights over toys as Chalupa figures out how to A - defend what's his and B - to know when to give up.

… Both boys are rock star travelers.  We have it down to an art, flying with them.  I don't think I could do it on my own.  Definitely not as smoothly.  But they don't fuss much and G is just happy to look at out the window and watch the ipad or play games with his daddy.  Chalupa requires more work but a train and the arm rest as a track and that passed 20 or so minutes.  It's not easy.  But it's definitely doable.  Flying to Wisconsin is a long day.  We drove from their home to the airport (3 hrs) got on the plane (2 hrs) to another airport then got on another plane (90min) and then landed at home and drove (30min) home.  It was a super long day for them.  G slept in till 930 this morning.  Chalupa woke up at 6, drank some milk and then we both I guess fell asleep in the rocking chair bc next thing I knew it was 8.  He was still asleep.  I went to lay him down but he cried.  So I picked him up and he curled back into my shoulder and closed his eyes.  He slept another 30 minutes.

… He doesn't nap great.  Only 90min.  Which is fine if you're doing two of those but my normal routine just doesn't allow it.  So only one nap for 90min.  Really would be so much better if he'd at least add another 30 minutes on there.  But, alas.  Nothing doing.  The issue becomes that he needs to be in bed by 630 after that.  Which is hard for his Dad.  Oh well.  A short stage.
