Book time has always been a bit of a balancing act. In the beginning, D would sit in his bouncy chair while I read to G.  He'd sometimes scream and I would be yelling over him, the room filled with palpable stress.

Then I would bounce D on one knee while G sat on the other.  This didn't go well either.  But when D started crawling and pulling up (10mo+) he would just crawl around and stand on the bed and pull books out of the shelves while I read.

When he started walking, he would toddle over and look over my shoulder, then toddle off to get the next book.  Sometimes, if G was playing with his dad or something, he would bring me a board book (more his speed) and he'd plop down in my lap happily and wait for me to start.  His favorites are That's Not My Car, Have you Ever Tickled a Tiger and more recently, a book he's obsessed with, Night Light.  He brings it to me over and over again.  Anytime I'm sitting down he thinks I should read this book.  Before naps.  After naps.  Before bed.  Before breakfast.  He loves it.

I wasn't as dilligent with reading to him as I was to G.  G I have read to every night since he was four months old.  G loves story time.  D, I was worried because he wasn't the soul focus he might not enjoy it or like it.  Nope.  He's gotten it.  Now that's he's so into it, I have to read two books.  One with G in my lap and the other with just D.  They will not share.

They are so funny.  They love each other and really enjoy each other, but neither one like to share me.  Or any other toy really.  I enjoy my time with them.  These are sweet days.
