This was almost a week ago which just goes to show even I get behind on pictures.
We did a video birthday with family. It was pretty neat. I actually really recommend this. It was a google hang out? And we had two families logged in (my brother was at the house with us). We would have had a third family (his grandparents in Wisconsin) but I messed up. Next time!
He was confused and G was super excited and wanted to blow out all the candles and sing happy birthday and was very glad over all.
He threw the cake, he ate the cake, he put cake in his hair. I really wish I'd had a good shot of him throwing the cake. He was throwing it at the folks on the video chat. This wast the most he liked cake all week. I had high hopes. But ...the next day he sobbed through a cake smash in the backyard.
I had this great idea of staged photo boothish pictures at the birthday party. Just streamers as a back drop. Which, I think some people think streamers are beneath them. Like tacky or something? But I think they are the best $6 I've ever spent. I've decorated three parties with them. That's a bargain! And if I do say so myself the pictures turned out fun. People hated being posed but they loved the end result.
G "helped" him open all his presents. Actually, it would be more accurate to say that Chalupa helped G open all of Chalupa's presents.
He did not love the cake at his party. In fact after this he freaked out. That's all on camera too but I'll spare you the screaming child pictures.
