Having watched "the" performance again ... I have a new take.  Well, not really.

Who cares how she was dancing she just really did NOT sing great.  Robin Thicke?  Yeah he can sing.  Miley Cyrus?  In perfect conditions, she's okay.  I mean better than me.  But Jennifer Hudson?  Is Broadway going to be calling?  No.  She was flat, off key, and out of breath.

Was it in poor taste?  Um yeah?  But when you can't sing isn't it better for them to be talking about you simulating acts with a foam finger then for them to say that you have no talent?

I mean to be nice everyone is saying, "she's so talented, she didn't have to do that."  Maybe that's true.  But that's just more affirmation for Miss Thang.

I think she's trying to tap into a culture she's not really a part of, that rejects her because she's all Mickey Mouse.

Also, I think kids like it when you make groups like The Parenting Council of something something morality mad.  I think that gives you street cred.

I'm not too worried.  I'm the last generation that knows what a music video is anyway.  The chances that the VMA's are still on when my kids are 14?  Slim to none.
