Weekend

We painted. It's blurry. I think my lens is dirty. Actually I know it's dirty.

Family tree and daddy's footsteps. It's for father's day but his dad really doesn't get sentimental about crap like that so he's seen it. He was like, oh that's nice. Seriously. Men.

This could be it's own post. Having dealt with food issues with G for the better part of his young life, I have no fear about Chalupa. He has no excema issues. His GI tract seems to operate normally. So I give him anything I find that I can smush up or he can mash with his gums or can pick up. This weekend we had watermelon and peanut butter on bread. We also had yogurt on Saturday. I was testing him to see if he's allergic to dairy (like I think G is). No reaction really, he did have gas on Friday night so I think that's related. But that's normal for a body unused to digesting the stuff. My friends think I'm nuts. Hahaha, see what I did there? For letting him have peanut butter and milk already. But the only reason they say no milk till a year is because it's so filling and the baby needs to get most of his food from formula or breast milk. So they grow better. But most people don't research the crap out of things like this and I have and honestly ... I've dealt with G. Chalupa isn't throwing up every meal / feeding and he's not spitting up much at all anymore. I know he's a text book kid. So I'm not scared.

See I look at his plates as I make them and I think, this isn't that bad. He's eating pretty healthy. But it's the same every meal. G is OCD and has to have order in his life so now if you offer anything new it's like trying to ask him to do algebra. The things he eats has become "Grady food" and then there's what everyone else eats. So in his brain, he can only eat "Grady food." This is going to be difficult to crack.

He loves going on bike rides (to the donut shop) with his Daddy. They get donuts and coffee and juice and they sit and watch cartoons. He adores it.

Chalupa and I took the stroller to the park. G and Daddy got to take the bike. Chalupa was leaning up trying to see them. He really wants to do what Daddy and G do.

It warms my heart to see how much he loves his daddy and how much he enjoys spending time with him. It just makes it all make sense. Kids love their daddy's. Even crappy ones!  Not referring to Lewis at all, he is a great dad and makes every effort to make the time he does have with G - which is really limited to the weekends - special.  But I have friends that are divorced or single parents and the daddy's don't try very hard.  And it breaks the poor kids hearts because they just love their daddy's.  It's biological, I think.  And I dont have girls so I say especially in boys.

And they just want so much to spend time with them. This desire in G and his wanting to talk to his daddy on the phone when he's not here and asking for daddy and talking about things daddy brings home for him ... for instance ... Daddy brought him home a red shirt with a fish on it for valentine's day. If he picks it out to wear he tells you ... Daddy bought this shirt special for me. He went to the store himself. He knows, even at three, that this is a special shirt and a big deal.

We fed the ducks. There were two families of ducks with babies.
