Here We Go Again

And we're here.  Chalupa can sit himself up and now he's fighting naps.  He slept for thirty minutes today.

I keep telling myself I've done this before, G did this before, it'll be fine, it's a phase.  But it stresses me out.  Chalupa, instead of just sitting himself up and quietly contemplating the universe - like G did, screamed all day.  I'm terrified that this will happen all night.

I'm hopeful that since the child is so tired now, he will go to bed and he will sleep.  There may be tears initially but I'm hopeful he will sleep.  Crawling is very very soon, I feel.  And he's waving now and I've heard him say words and he's playing more interactively with his brother.  His world is changing, and so I must adjust.

I try to remember that I did very little with G, just remained consistent and he did learn to sleep eventually.  I try to remember that the same is true of Chalupa.  He is a perosn.  He needs sleep.  If I give him every opportunity, eventually he will take me up on them.

I'm watching him play with G on the floor.  He is really trying to move.  He pivots and lifts his whole body up (think downward facing dog) and spins to get to where he wants.

I know this is a phase.  I know this is a phase.  I know this is a phase.

Repeat as needed.
