We had our doctors appointment today.  Nothing exciting there.  He's normal normal and I have no questions for the doctor.

His most exciting developments have been in the food department.  Most of you readers are friends on facebook too so you saw the posts about him eating lasagna.  It was a completely foreign experience to me.  If you read back about G, he gagged on everything.  Threw everything up.  And while that's normal, and I was told it was normal.  It wasn't.  What Chalupa does is normal.  And you folks with "normal" kids have no idea what I go through.

And my two kids are just perfect examples of the you can't really "make" your child into what you want.  You get what you get.  You get a good eater.  You get a picky eater.  You get a kid that likes carseats.  You get a child that gets car sick.  You just don't get to "make" your child into anything.  You can encourage.  You can expose.  But if the kid isn't having it?  Guess what.  Good luck with that battle of wills.

He loved lasagna.  He liked the ricotta cheese the most I think.  But who knows.  He eats pretty much everything I have put in front of him.  None with the gusto he ate the lasagna with.  But maybe he was just really hungry.  We do purees and finger foods.  I give him some of whatever I make for G and then try something different.  So he's having peanut butter and jelly sometimes, fruit, crackers.  And then whatever I eat.  Lasagna.  Whatever.  He's doing pretty good.  Still mostly milk diet.

He was harder to photograph today.  He wants to eat the paper.

As you can see they look pretty different.  I think their ears are the same?  Face shape?  No idea.  Something about the eyes is different.  I dunno.  I hear all the time "he looks just like G".  I swear people are blind, or else they think that's what I want to hear.

9 months, gone in a blink.  He's sleeping better.  Was napping okay.  But right now he's upstairs screaming after a 30 minute nap.  He fell asleep in the car on the way home from the doctor but two hours later I thought he'd nap better.  Who knows.  Like I said I don't get to dictate what the kids do.  I can only try.

He's doing everything he should be doing developmentally.  Apparently with G I was hearing more words.  Chalupa is saying mama sometimes?  But it's a sound not a word, I'm pretty sure.  I remember the one time I heard G say "moo" at this age and that has not happened yet.  Soon though.  He mimics sounds and mouth movement.  No crawling, though he wants to.  He's pulling up on objects he can reach but he can't quite coordinate his legs yet.  Very few forward steps, though I work on this (Lord help me why, but I do).

He's a pretty good boy of late.  I'm having to start discipline and using "no" but I've been doing it for G's benefit for a long time, because G is always like, "mom - tell Chalupa to STOP!"  At 9mos I'm a traffic cop.  I do not enjoy the role.  And it's only just beginning.

His separation anxiety is just beginning.  Though he is no where near as bad as G was.

Well.  Either that naps over and I'm going to go rock him back down.  Wish me luck.
