The (not) Sleeping Habits of Chalupa

Oh Chalupa.  Dear sweet Chalupa.  If it's not an ear infection, it's a cold.  If it's not an illness, it's a growth spurt.  If it's not a growth spurt, it's teething pain.  I realize that on any given night there are fifty new sensations that wake you up and prevent you from going back to sleep with relative ease.  I do.

This knowledge does not make the night wakings any easier to handle.

I'm doing everything wrong.  For instance, Chalupa goes down at 730ish, he's up again at 11.  I feed him at this interval because it's been four hours and I'm not going to get him back to sleep only to have him wake in an hour, starved.  Then he wakes up again at 1AM.  Here I don't feed him.  Settle him back to sleep.

He's up again at 2.  Here I also don't feed him.  But it's 2AM and I'm looking at only getting another four hours, TOPS, and if he keeps waking up I won't get any so ... I take him into the spare bedroom and we spend the rest of the night in there.  At least there, I don't have to do as much though he's still up every hour or so, and I have to pat his back again to get him back to sleep.  After 4AM I feed him again.

I have no idea what these night wakings mean.  They are so close together it makes me curious and I am concerned he's getting another ear infection.  He and G both have colds.

Sigh.  I may never sleep again.

And by sleep, dear Chalupa, I mean four hours.  Just four at a stretch.  I promise I will wake up with you.  Swear to it I won't make you go all night unfed.  I just need, maybe ever other night, for you to sleep in stretches that are longer than 2 hours.  Thanks so much. /management
