With G back on his EE meds, there is an uncomfortable hour every morning in which he can not eat or drink. For a kid that doesn't love food, he does love liquids, and keeping him off the sauce for an entire hour can be difficult.
This is how TV came into my life, and Buzz Lightyear. Because Toy Story was on last Christmas and I DVR'd it, and he could sit and watch it for an hour and be distracted from wanting juice or crackers. Most days we'd just pack up and leave for the park. That easily killed an hour. But on bad weather or cold days ... well the TV was helpful.
Today we opted for different forms of distraction but the weather was crappy so the park was out.
First we tried water color painting.
Hello Chalupa. How are you?
How did you get way over there?
Then we played The Lady Bug Game. Mama won.
Hello again Chalupa.
Then we played dinosaurs. See Chalupa's foot? Flat on the ground? Bracing? He's going to roll back to front in a matter of days.
Then we moved upstairs to the toy room.
Chalupa found some toys.
We played with some race tracks.
Have you seen our play room?
We love our playroom. This room is why I wanted a new house. I know it's a nice to have, but it is soooo nice to have. We have room at the table to eat or color or play with blocks. There's room for his train table which is the room favorite. He also loves all of his little people pretend play items. The farm and the nativity get played with a lot. As does the fire truck.
We can work on our letters. He goes up and down the wall naming the letters he knows and the pictures he recognizes. He's getting pretty good. He can sing his abc's but recognizing them is still a crap shoot. For some reason he thinks G is Q.
He's better at letters than he is at numbers. Boggles my mind. He can count fingers and knows one hand is 5 and two is ten.
I have no idea where that puts him with other kids. But I'm not worried about him he is smart and talkative and quick to understand new concepts.
I really like subway art. These are two of my favorites. One was just a bunch of things for boys and the other is a quote from Walt Disney about always moving forward. Which I just really like.
These are just some of his papers from school. Really from the first two weeks. The rest are in a box and I need to go through and select the best pieces and toss the rest.
It's just a nice room.
Down the hallway (towards the boys bedrooms) you can see more subway art. It has their names and birth information on it. There's a typo though. Both say they were born in 2010.
