D's first bath. He was not impressed. The water wasn't cold, or too hot, or anything. He's just a newborn, who didn't like the sensation I guess. It was still just a sponge-y bath. Though the umbilical cord thingie - about to fall off anyway - finally gave up the good fight. I don't keep those things, I know some people do. I thought about photographing it. But really? Why?
G's first spirit day, aka his second day of school. I would love to tell you that better pictures translated to a better day. But alas, it did not. He loves school, he just would love it much better if mama went with him. Which is what he kept asking.
Mama come too? No baby, these are steps you have to go through on your own.
He does like it. He came home talking about Mrs. T and his friend Bryson and some other things that I didn't understand. He slept for an hour so he has to be fairly comfortable there. But the report home said he was tearful most of the day and his teacher told me that it was a harder day for him. He's not eating when he's there (grr) which is going to give me heart burn. But he'll sort it out. I try to fill him up at breakfast and then if he is starving when I pick him up (which he was, both days) I have snacks for him. He'll be okay.
He was able to tell me that he goes back "to preschool on Tuesday." Which I found impressive. We don't do a lot of days of the week around here. So he's learning already.
And the new nursery. The furniture is the same, the theme is different. Hot air balloons and safari (jungle?) animals. Mostly zebra's and giraffe's in my mind. But there is a lion in there, and an elephant, if you look closely. I still need a bookcase, for either the right or left side of the chair. The beach balls are his brother and father's addition. The growth chart was made by a friend. Truly we are months away from using this space (I think) so I don't have to fret just yet. But I'm working on D's first days book (sonograms, pregnant photos, baby shower pics, hospital photos, etc. I know I'm nuts.) and it needs pictures of his nursery. Hence ...
I painted this myself. I'm sure you can tell that. But I think it turned out rather nice, considering it's a knock off of something that retails for $200 (robbery!).
My lovely cousin knitted the beautiful blanket for us. I love it. It's really too nice to use! But I need to get D all wrapped in it so we can have some pictures of him using it.
