Lewis and I have long thought that G needed a tent. We have made forts in the living room with blankets and sheets for many moons ... but we thought he needed a tent. His brother will like it too.
I didn't take pictures while I was sewing panels or cutting panels or doing anything like that. Or while we were figuring out how best to secure the poles so that they didn't fall and crush anyones heads. Because that might have made the marital arguments worse. I saw things a certain way. Needless to say he disagreed.
We survived unscathed. And the tent got finished!
To say it's finished is kind of a lie. It needs some finishing touches. I bought some cameo fabric to sort of dress up parts of it that are ugly. And I need to hem the bottom up a bit.
But as you can see, the jury loves it. We took video of him seeing it for the first time and it's pretty cool. And for the first few days every time he saw it he'd gasp and say "tent!" and rush inside. He likes having everyone in the tent with him.
He loves rough housing with his daddy. It is a great relief to me when his dad is home and they can play. That IS hours of entertainment for G.
I didn't take pictures but a few days ago he and his dad invented a golf game. G would hit the golf ball to his dad (with his toy golf set) and then his dad would hit it back to him. G used the green golf club (driver) and Lew used the orange one (wedge). There is a putter, but mama wasn't allowed to play?!?! The next day G wanted to play again but his Dad was busy or something so I tried to play with him but he sort of went nuclear and demanded Dad play and not mama. "No! Daddy!" he kept saying.
It's sort of sad but not really. He needs to play with his daddy and have special things he does with just daddy. It's good for him.
