And so we enter the homestretch. 36 weeks. Next week will mark full term, and we have to be on baby watch. I started having braxton hicks contractions at about 33 weeks. At my 34 week appointment the doctor saw no progress, so they are unproductive. At my next appointment, I do not think that will be the case. I've had several, what I would consider, real contractions. Obviously nothing consistent. But it's there, waiting, on the horizon. Labor.
Shiver.
At 36 weeks I start going to the doctor weekly. That all starts tomorrow. The symptoms of pregnancy at this point are the ones everyone hates; no room for food, heartburn, movement is uncomfortable (rolling over takes an act of congress), the round ligament pain is horrible. Fatigue is back and yet I have insomnia. I wake up every night at 2AM and again at 4AM, if I'm able to fall back asleep at 2AM at all. The other night I got up and watch two hours worth of VEEP. That's two hours I can't get back people.
I've tried to bring home the point to G that baby brother is going to live here. I probably should have brought it up sooner; this idea that baby brother doesn't
live forever in mama's belly, he does come out. And he will live with us. When I told him this he said no. Of course, he was hungry at the time and demanding apple juice. So maybe if I had waited till the blood sugar level was more even, perhaps I would have gotten a different answer?
Once, when I was working out, I owned a pair of jeans that were waist size 29. They were skinny jeans. I bought them, because I had become skinny. As you can see, I am now easily a 42 inch waist, and I weigh almost as much as my husband. It's funny to think about the weight on the scale. It's like an abstract number in my mind. It's not really
my weight. That's impossible. I would
never weigh so much. Roll your eyes now. But it's like it's happening to someone else. I walk by a mirror and I'm shocked at what I see. How is that belly mine? How is that belly
anyones?? It just doesn't seem natural.
G. 28 months. Almost 29. No post is complete without a shot of just G. I have a bunch of stuff to post about playing in the backyard, the new tent, eating habits and the wonders of cookie cutters. But as I mentioned above ... fatigue. And I have this other project I'm working on for October (no not the baby) and it's top secret (sort of) and it's time consuming and I'm always tired. And I'm trying to take G places that we may not get to visit for a while (aquarium, children's museum, play park, pool, etc).
