Wonder

We feed bears at our house, we don't have tea parties.  I know that's not very PC of me, to not allow a boy to have tea parties, but I think labeling them tea parties feminizes what is otherwise perfectly normal behavior.  He's just mimicking what his parents do for him every day; a meal time.  This picture is old, from the first day we introduced the chairs (we've had the table a while), and it was Lewis's idea to add the bears.

The small bear there, is mine, from a trip to Vegas that me and my friend took Senior year of college.  It's from Build-a-Bear.  Because that's how we roll; we go to Vegas and visit Build-a-Bear.

The large bear there ... that was a gift from Lewis's high school girlfriend, who's name I'm not posting to protect the innocent.

It makes me wonder ... what would 16-year-old Julie think about her teddy bear being a favorite play thing of her boyfriends future child with his future wife ... which isn't her?  I'd like to think that grown-up Julie would think it was sweet, and a nice tribute to a young relationship.

I personally think it's one of life's little ironies.  And it's a fun bear so I'd never take it from him; the thought never occurred to me.  He loves his bears.  I just wonder about it, and the strange paths our lives take and the people that are in them.

I remember the bears! Leyton has mine, and when he was a baby my sister dressed him up in it's outfit!
