Graduation

So G graduated from swim class today.  The graduation "ceremony" or what proves he's ready is he has to swim fully clothed, with shoes.  So he jumps in the water, and he sinks pretty far in because his diaper immediately takes on an additional, oh I'd guess at least a pound, maybe more.

And he had a really hard time floating.  But then he got into a groove and he did well.  So we're all done!  Tomorrow I swim with him so she can show me how to maintain (note: I'm not excited about having to climb in and out of the pool in front of a crowd) and then we're done.  Yippee!  No more daily committment.

It hasn't been bad, but it does make scheduling playdates and things like that limited to have a standing 10AM class everyday.

We also go to the lake on Friday so I'm wondering how the swim lessons will translate to lake water (of course we have life vests for him too).  He really is quite proud of himself when he finishes.  And he talks about swimming all the time.

Today, thus far, has been a good day.  Yesterday was a good day too.  We didn't do much, and I feel bad about that but sometimes it's necessary for mama's survival.  And after my husband and my mother both said it was in everyones best interest, I hired a cleaning service and they came today.  So not only, did he graduate from swim class, but I came home to a clean house that smells like oranges.  And it's so spoiled of me.  I hate it.  But maybe I'm helping someone else and maybe they really needed the money and maybe it makes their life a little bit better and I know it makes mine a lot better so maybe it's not so bad.  But I believe I've sacrificed that prenatal massage I was eyeing.  Oh well.  A clean house is better.
