Planning
I hit 24 weeks along in a few days. Okay like 8 days, which is a handful more than a few. But you know what 24 weeks is? That's 6 months. I'll still be three weeks from the start of the third trimester, so really we still have plenty of time.
But I haven't done anything. Not one blessed thing. Haven't gone through the baby clothes. Haven't cleaned a car seat. Haven't found a name that I like. Haven't found a name that I even sort of luke warm like. Well, I have one. But something about it isn't ... right. I can't explain it. With G I was immediately comfortable with it. No question; his name was G.
This one I'm lost. I'm going to go that old stand by route ... I'm getting a baby book and a pencil and through it I shall go.
But I have sort of settled on a nursery theme.
Like G's it won't come together perfectly and it won't all be matchy matchy. I just don't really live that way, and every room in my house kind of represents that. But if you're interested ... the things I've picked out are on THIS board at pinterest.
I'm looking for a large (think HUGE), red hot air balloon model to hang over the rocker. The airplane kite was a huge hit with G and it's size and bright color really caught his interest and held it from a very early age. I'd like it to have a large basket so that I can place jungle theme animals inside the basket. Lewis says we should include animals in our themes. I'm all about things that fly. I'm drawn to them.
The black and white zebra is going to be tricky but now that I've seen it I really want to get that done. I could probably find an artist on etsy that could recreate it for me just as I want it. But for now I think I'll google zebra stencils and see what I can make myself.
I'm not big on putting the kids name on the wall, though I did with G and I sort of regret it? Or I just don't think it added that much. It did put something on a blank wall I had no idea for. But I think I'd rather put animals or colorful pictures in that space.
Though I will make a small banner or something to take his picture with. Because duh ... you just have to.
