21 weeks
So this sono marked the half way point (or at least super close to it) and today's regular OB appointment was just one of those regular every 4 week sessions. You stand on a scale, check your blood pressure, give a sample, hear the heart beat, measure your belly, "okay see you in four more weeks!"
Everything is progressing normal normal for this little man. The doctor said his ultra sound looked great and he's measuring right on time.
I continue to be shocked by that. I'm not fully convinced of what that means, because I know he should be a week later, but he isn't. I still contend he will not arrive before or on his due date (Sept 12) and will be here about Sept 20th (my guess in the baby pool). But one never can tell.
The doctor said something horrifying today though; I only have two more 4w apt's and then it's every 2w.
It can not be that close.
Obviously we have nothing done. Obviously I haven't bought one single stupid thing. I mean we bought a house, I guess that's huge, so he actually has a room to come home too, so that's something. But until we move in on June 10th (perilously close to 27w) we're not doing much.
I mean I guess we should continue having name discussions. That would be something. We have time, in truth. It was just strange to think that I'm on the second half slide. I'll be thankful to hit 24w (viability). But the end game here is 40. I think babies do better the longer they can stay in (within reason).
One interesting factoid ...
So I've felt this baby move from super early on. And he moves all the time. Literally any time I sit down he starts kicking and stretching. I joke that it scares me that he's going to come out and be all hyper all the time. But the u/s tech said that my placenta is behind him, so it's probably why I feel it more. And I asked the doc today, was G in front? Because I rarely felt him. So doc checked, and sure enough, G's placenta was in front, blocking all his kicks. So while I just thought he was chill and calm and copesetic in there, he was probably kicking and screaming same as lil bro, I just couldn't tell as easily.
I find that interesting.
