As soon as we got through the front gate and into the park, Grady found the kids blowing bubbles. And he was chasing all the bubbles around with all the other kids.
He wasn't a great photo subject today, but I did manage to catch some that are okay. He's really gotten independent and wants to run and explore and get into trouble. Obviously I can't let him do this all the time and it causes some squabbles. It's not always pleasant. But I can't chase after him and keep up with the stroller and hang out with our friends ... so ... something's gotta give. Usually it's whatever it is he's trying to do. But I did let him chase the bubbles for quite some time.
Here was a point of contention. He wanted to move into the covered wagon, I think. Climb up the stairs, climb down the stairs, climb up the stairs, climb onto the bench, climb down the bench, climb back onto the bench. He never wanted to leave.
And I let him drink his first juice box without too much of my interference. Usually I hold it (and the straw) for him. But this time he seemed to be managing okay so I left him to it. Of course as the box got emptier he squeezed it harder and he got juice all over his shirt.
The hair cut really makes him look different to me. He's much more serious looking and everyone that's seen him says he looks more like Lewis now. I think he just looks more like a big boy and less like a baby. Babies have shaggy hair big boys have tidy hair cuts.
With our friend B. G wouldn't sit still for a picture.
It was a good day. I will probably take him back in the next week or so, so he can run around more on our own time and it wont be as crowded with the spring breakers. But it's such a nice park, with the lake, and the flowers and the cafe has a pergola with wisteria just dripping off of it and it smells soooooo nice. I would move in if they let me.
