Worry for Nothing

Grady loved the preschool.  Like left my hand and went and played and ooh'd and ahhh'd at the playground equipment and all the kids.

We went and looked at a classroom that was empty because the kids were outside on the playground and he dropped my hand and went to one of the little chairs and sat right down.  Then the kids came back into the room (by this time he was up at the play kitchen) and when they came in and sat down he sat down with them (like two seats away from the teacher) and was just watching and listening and loving it.

While I was there one of the little boys was crying and the teacher got down on his level and was giving him lots of attention and hugs and he felt much better and went and played.

I know that's normal.  I know that's what most caring and feeling adults would do.

I'm still glad I witnessed it because I think my little boy is awesome and needs lots of hugs.

I got a very good vibe from the whole place.  The teachers were very kind and the teacher in the 2 year old room we visited was telling me how much she loves this age and she just seemed very geniune and caring. They also told me how they do numbers and colors and letters and sing songs and all of that but I'm not worried about any of that at all.  As long as they expose him to it, he'll learn it.  He's very eager to learn.

And he knows how to count to two.  It's very easy, one for each hand equals two.

Anyway he loved school for the fifteen minutes we were there.  I still fully except lots of tears.
