Sunny Days
The weather here has been crazy. It's 80 degrees today. In February. It makes me fear for August. But it's super fun to be outside and be a toddler in this weather. We went to the park yesterday and today, and practically needed sun block.
I think he's really clumsy, even for a toddler. But I think that's because his feet seem to grow last of all his body parts. Is this normal? I dunno. But I think it makes it easier to fall when you get taller but you still have small feet. Like Carl Malone, as Lewis is so fond of saying.
He is, as always, a good boy. But the park has presented new problems, like the ones they talk about in this ridiculous article about why French parents are better than American parents. (If you read that article, read this one, because it sort of gets to the middle of the argument, which is that French are better at discipline, maybe too much so, and Americans are better at others. And that when left to their own devices, French children get into more trouble than American children. Like you know, setting cars on fire). Anyway, back to the park. Normally when we're on our own, when he walks out the gates of the park I go take his hand and we walk on and go away. But yesterday we were there with friends, and it wasn't time to go. He walked out of the gate three or four times and I had to chase him down (he wanted to watch the cars on the road). Not fun. He doesn't throw tantrums when we leave places, normally he just says "bye bye" and we move on. So it's not bad, but he doesn't just sit and stay, like the French kids do, apparently.
I can't remember where I was going with all of this. The point is he's doing really well. You know people get all upset about worried about their kids and change (moving) and I'm really not thinking about it. He's going to freak when we box up his room though. He won't understand what's happening. I'm hoping that if we set up his room in the same way it is now, he'll adjust quickly. But one can never tell. This is also all contingent upon selling this house and finding a new one.
There is not a better looking child in this world. Not anywhere.
