Potty Time!
No, not really. We're in the experimental phase of the bathroom process. The naming of what the, achem, elements involved are. The get comfortable with the general idea, part, as much as such a thing is possible. And I'm in no rush. I have no beef with diapers. I find them to be easier. Have you seen how often kids eat? Drink? There'd be bathroom trips every thirty minutes. I'm no hurry to take that on.
But ever since G hit his first birthday (or more like the 15 month mark) the question pops up. When are you going to start potty training? Oh geez. I just barely got through the sleep training. And we're still fighting food battles.
So the answer to this question is ... oh, probably about the same time he can say this sentence: "Mama, I hate diapers" I will begin potty training. Haha. I tease.
But in preparation, I've been reading, and listening to others. And I keep hearing this three day potty training miracle. Which essentially is the kid runs around naked for three days and this free roaming will encourage them to find a place for the fluids they must expel.
Can we all say a collective eww? Because ewww.
But people swear by it. My friend on the other side of town is such a proponent she tells everyone all about it. Someone else I know is grappling with two in diapers, and is that so bad. I have to think that dealing with two sleep schedules is bad enough. Dealing with two bathroom schedules would be worse. Keeping them in diapers seems easier.
Although, G is getting to the point that he asks to be changed. I think he just understands what I mean when I say diaper change, and he understands part of what he's doing with the whole, um, functions thing.
Anyway the whole point is that I think potty training is a big scary thing looming out there, waiting for me. And I'm cowardly hiding behind a stack of diapers, avoiding it.
I think I will find some tolerable books about the potty, and that will be my contribution to this endeavor. And then I will resume my crouch behind the stack of diapers.
