This was a great idea ... in theory.  But glass being glass, and slippery, and small hands being, well, at best wiggle-y, it just didn't materialize.

Not to be left with a bunch of sparkly red paint and nothing to show for it, I went in search of other things that could sparkle and shine.  I came up with the following ...

Because everyone (and I do mean everyone) recommends painting old picture frames, that's what I did.  And because my sparkle paint didn't give it quite enough sparkles, I used my ever handy spray paint o'sparkle, and added more.  Now this frame had broken glass so it's glassless.  And it's matting was for 11x14 I think? But I ripped out the yucky inner matting (brown - not very Christmasy or sparkly) and put scrapbook (sparkly) paper back there.  And yes, you can see the seam.  Judge away oh ye judgers.  It's not my favorite either but am I going to go look for sparkly paper that fits just so?  Ummm ... nope.

Now this one doesn't have any sparkles (yet) and would look better over the fire place.  But that space is in use for stockings and I'm not removing that tape and starting that over again so next year folks, next year.
