Christmas

Lest anyone think that all I took pictures of was presents and present opening, there were other things that happened on Christmas day. There was food. Lewis smoked a turkey and it was delicious. There was wine. There was dressing. There was German Pancakes that morning, but we had no syrup. So we had to make some. Blessedly I had all the ingredients on hand and I have to say, that home made syrup was delicious! Not the same consistency as regular syrup, but it still yummy!
There was an apple pie. With a green tree and red ornaments on it. There were sweet potatoes and stuffing and mashed potatoes. Because we all love starch.
There were three dogs. Two of which bark. A lot.
There was Settlers played. I won. Because the key to that game is not building, but is getting cards. Lots of cards.

And there were gifts. Calendars, ornaments, pajama bottoms, scarfs, books ... skydiving. I'll let your mind wander at who got the skydiving gift. Pictures of that sometime in the spring, I'd imagine.
There were toy fire trucks, big trucks, books, tool sets, farm animals, and an alphabet magnet learning game. The big hits though, were three last minute purchases from the $1 bin at Target; a plastic lion, horse and elephant. The lion and elephant attack each other and the lion says "ROAR!" Quite well actually.
But the cause of the biggest giggles ...

It was probably one of my favorite Christmas's on record. And I've had some good ones. We didn't do much. Just hung out, opened gifts, ate some food, watched some movies, played some games. Nothing fancy. Nothing terribly exciting.
