West Texas Girls
My mother-in-law wanted to have a girls trip. She suggested (I think last Thanksgiving) that we all make the trek out to West Texas to Palo Duro Canyon and see the play Texas. The logisitics get a bit dizzing with some of us from Indianna, Wisconsin, Houston and Dallas, but I have to say it worked out super easiest for me. No plane or extra car time required.
It's about 6 hours to Palo Duro from Dallas. We drove out there on Saturday and came back on Sunday. Work, family schedules just don't allow for most of us to take a lot of time off.
This is Palo Duro Canyon, or at least the part that we saw from this lookout on the way down into the canyon.
Smile Danyelle. No smile like you want this picture to be seen by people.
You are impossible.
That's better! My sis-in-law from Indie, shown here, is 8 months pregnant and she braved the heat for us! I kept thinking that if Jenn can handle this heat without a negative word than I should not say a peep. It was 102 at 5PM in the Canyon.
All of us.
This is called Mexican Skirt.
Mexican Skirt.
The sun was pretty bright.
This is the ampitheater in the canyon.
This is the view behind the stage.
They have a great meal offered and you sit at picnic tables and there are misters and fans. It was actually not too hot in the shaded areas. And the food was really good!
About to make our way in to see the show. We were standing infront of a state of Texas but with so many of us you can't really see it.
It was a great trip and I got to spend some quality time with my sister-in-laws and mother-in-law! Most of the adventure took place in the car, but that actually gave us a lot of opportunity to visit.
I would like to point out ... that Danyelle was reading too. At least part of the time!
