First Trip to the Beach
Flexibility is the key to air power. And adventure.
Lewis came home on Monday (if you remember we had just gotten home from Lubbock the night before) and said, "I have to go to Galveston for work, I was going to leave today. Wanna go?"
My instinct is to say no to the unknown. I am a mull-er. I have to think about things, disect, come to a conclusion, think again, and make a decision. But, this time I decided, eh, what's 5 more hours in the car?
So we went. And Tuesday we had a great little mini-break at the beach at Galveston. Grady played in the ocean, inspected the sand, and tore down 4 sand towers that his Daddy made. It took him a bit to get accustomed to the wierd sand, but he did like it. As long as it stayed off his face, which was difficult. We even did some sand walking. And he's getting really good at walking solo. Still not brave enough to walk very long without help, but he's getting closer and closer to independent walking.
And yes, Lewis buried Grady in the sand. Which Grady really didn't mind ... until he figured out he couldn't move. Than he freaked out.
Grady and I are home now while Lewis finishes his work part of the trip. And then next week it's off to the East Coast.
On June 1st ... I swear I'm doing NOTHING.
