Brian's Graduation

You see him ... he's the only dude looking backwards, five rows up from the back and about eight seats deep.  The ceremony was long.  So long.  Even longer because we had Grady.  Who had about enough about an hour and a half in.  Which was half way in.

Highlight - we had this toy which is a little ball that has a face on it and lights up when it hits something.  Grady was playing with it, and I knew it was a risk.  We love to throw things.  But he was happy and not screaming so I said, eh, if we lose the toy, so what.  Of course, he threw it.  It bounced down the rows and some good samaritan tried to catch it, and ended up throwing it OVER THE SIDE!  It landed on some poor unsuspecting soul five stories below us (we were in the mezzanine level, I guess).  My mom went down to get it and apologize.  We blamed the baby.  All was well.  It was hillarious to watch the smiley face, glowing yellow ball sail over the side and down.  Everyone around us (who didn't get hit) thought it was funny too.

Yeah for the graduate with honors!

For some reason, I love this picture.  Grady is a mama's boy, especially when we travel.  He hurts everyones feelings.  Including his Dads.  But only when we are away from home!  At home he'll go to Daddy, play with Daddy, and he's shy of strangers but he'll play nice.  Not so much on the road.  He's just a cautious dude.

He was great in the car.  No crying.  He didn't even sleep the whole time and he just sat back there and played.  He rocks.

But when we got home, he was so excited to be home.  And he walked all the way from the living room to the kitchen!  By himself, no hands.  It was amazing.  So amazing, I am fairly certain in the next couple of weeks he will be indepently walking.

Pray for me.

Travel tip.  So we stayed in a hotel in Lubbock and Grady has an early bed time.  So, how to get him to bed and his parents not have to stay quiet in a hotel room for 12 hours?  We put his pack n play in the bathroom (blessedly it fit!).  And it was was brilliant.  Saturday he napped for almost three hours in there.  I may put his pack n play in the bathroom at home!

Congrats Brian!
