Show me your smile!
We have more teeth than any baby we've met our age. Well, not true. We have larger teeth than any other baby we've met our age. Our friend Ryan has 7 teeth, but they are all barely poking through. They are taking their sweet time emerging.
We are cutting more teeth this week. And I can not be sure, but either the canines (the outside teeth on the top row) or molars (where?) are coming in. Whatever they are, they are causing a great deal of discomfort. Not the first two level of discomfort, but more discomfort than we had with the other four. Lots of finger biting going on over here. I can tell when teeth are coming in because he'll take those frozen ring things over any other toy he has.
What else is new? Consistent waving (actually seeming to mean to wave hello), still nothing on the crawling front, though he is getting his legs under him much better lately. Hopefully he stands up soon. We keep trying more textured food, but my acid-reflux, texture hating, vomit-tious child is difficult. On that front, we have improved (and for those interested the upper GI revealed no physical abnormalities - if things dont dramatically improve within 6 months we will have to have a scope - YUCK). We are eating less, so I worry about him being hungry, but he is throwing up less. He didn't throw up all weekend. But he threw up twice today. But he also ran a temp. So unrelated bug issue? Or acid reflux / texture issue? Only Grady knows for sure.
Today we had some success with our old favorite, sweet potatos. I cooked them and mashed them and rolled them into little mash sweet potato ball thingies. And he ate them!
So all hope is not lost. And it's not at a critical stage yet. I fully expect he'll be feeding himself table food in the next three months. I'm more concerned about the mobility issue but as Lewis and I say, we have yet to see a 3 year old who is not walking. And I did some reading (I know, I'm an idiot) and read somewhere that most of the developmental stuff evens out by 3.
But ... my kid loves books, can walk up steps (holding our hands), and loves dogs. Oh and he can cut teeth like it's going out of style. :)
