DIY: Airplane Mobile

So the kid gets antsy during diaper changes.  Rolls all over the place, cries, not pleasant.  So I've been giving him toys and keeping toys on the changer for him to play with while we get dressed, change diapers, etc.  But I wanted a mobile.  Originally I was going to make one out of blocks, but ... problematic, and led to my quilt.  Which I will tell you all about later.

Then my friend Kate made a pretty paper mobile for her baby girl, and cousin Meryl made origami cranes into a mobile, and I thought ... hmm ... I can make paper airplanes!

And the below was born.

And he seems to like it.  He was laughing at it as I put it together, and he tried to lunge for it when we showed it to him.  Hence the blurry motion shot.  It cost me nothing (old hangers wrapped with ribbon, scrapbooking paper, fishing wire ... which, coincidentally, fishing wire is a must have in nursery decorating).  There are now three airplanes hanging from his cieling.  All of them he loves.  :)  I don't really care if he ever flies a plane, but my little ace pilot will grow up knowing planes (and pilots) are awesome.
