Adventures with Food: Puffs

We've been playing with puffs for some weeks now. To practice our fine motor skills. We are better at picking things up, but getting those little guys into our mouth is still a struggle. He ends up licking his fingers alot.

He does not love foods with more texture. He makes a face like I'm trying to poison him and then gags, with just about everything that gets into his mouth. He likes biting on apple slices, and melons, and even grapes. But once he breaks off a piece with this teeth and it sits there in his mouth, he looks horrified and tries to throw up.

He's really good at throwing up. He is his mother's daughter. My parents thought I was possessed, or ... more likely ... throwing up on purpose. I know Grady is doing it on purpose, not because he wants to but because he doesn't know how to eat the food yet. But I can usually talk him down from throwing up. "No, it's okay, it's gone. Have a drink of water."

Sometimes I fail though.

The beginnings of the "what the heck is this?" face.

We still love playing with them though. And watching the dog eat the ones on the floor.
