In Honor

My Daddy has been in the United States Air Force for over 30 years.  My parents have given their lives (and their freedom of choice) to the military and this country.  They have moved every 2-3 years for the last three decades.  As we speak my mother is moving into yet another house, on yet another base, for yet another job.

Today, on Veteran's day, I just wanted to take a minute, in this space, to say the biggest and warmest of THANK YOU'S to my Dad, for everything that he does and continues to do.  He has made an excellent career out of protecting our nation.

I could go on and on about all the amazing things my parents have gotten to do.  And how amazing my childhood was (though I didn't appreciate it at the time - how many kids can say they saw a Stealth Bomber doing barrell rolls in their backyard?).  But we all know those things.

What we don't know is that my parents are inconvenienced beyond words time and time again and they bare it with grace, humility and a smile.

I don't know what the future holds for them, but I know it will be a grand adventure.  Happy Veteran's Day to my Dad, and to all of my family that have served this great nation; my father-in-law, two brother-in-law's, Great Uncle's and dear friends.

We are the land of the free, because of the brave.
