What Grady's Doing
Pushing up on our arms and holding head upright. He gets tired eventually. His head holds a very large brain so it's terribly heavy.
Experimenting with solids! Here is our second time eating rice cereal, which was like three weeks ago now. We've eaten green beas (fail), peaches (pass), and avocado (pass). Eating at this point is for practice and not nutrition, so it's all in small doses and every few days or so, as our mood permits.
And rolling over! This was the second time we did it, and we've rolled over sporadically ever since. I was told yesterday that by 5 months he'll probably be thrashing all over the place.
On the ever so important (sarcasm) self-soothing, we have taught ourselves to suck our fingers, and mostly our thumb. This really doesn't bother me in the slightest. If it makes him happy than go for it, little man. I'll deal with helping you quit later on.
In post-partum mommy related news - it's only taken 19 weeks (6 weeks working out) for my wedding rings to fit without using lotion to get them on! I've lost probably 4-5 pounds since I joined Stroller Fit at the end of the July. I try to go at least twice a week, three if I can. It's all dependent on what kind of night little dude has. I still have more pounds to go, and A LOT of toning to do. But, I'm optimistic.
Things that make mommy happy at this point - I do a little dance every time I can lay him down at nap time, sleepy, but slightly awake, and he stays down. He looks up at me when I lay him down, seems to assess the situation (to cry, or not to cry?) and then turns his head, gives a sigh, and closes his eyes. When he doesn't decide to cry that is. I do another dance every time he sleeps longer than 4 hours. Now, the irony of this is, I can't sleep longer than 4 hours at a stretch anymore. So often I'm awake and he is not. Boo.
But, almost 19 weeks in, and we're doing good.
