Bob Woodward's New Book

Obama's War is Bob Woodward's new book.  And Drudge has a bunch of quotes from it on his website today.  Now, I think Bob Woodward is an opportunist.  And I haven't read the whole thing and you can't tell a book just from a few quotes pulled out of context.

However, what I read in the Washington Post article about the book, I'm not impressed with Obama's off the cuff remarks and I think he is trying to sabotage the military in an effort to score political points and keep contributors.

But we knew all that already.

I was listening to a talking head on TV today talking about how these books always come out, and the detractors always cling to them and shake their fists and the supporters cling to them and hug them close.

So, take that for what it is.  But I bet Bob Woodward makes a fortune.

In other book news ... George Bush's book comes out in October.  Just from a rubber necking stand point, I think that book is going to be fascinating.  How did he view his Presidency?  What will he say?  He hasn't said much in the last two years (bless him).  Will he acknowledge that the spending problem we have now, he started?  Will he acknowledge that the bailouts were probably not a good idea?

Side track: I wish we knew if the bailouts were a bad idea.  I wish we had a crystal ball and a way to say, look, if we had done this instead, it would have turned out better.  If those companies had been allowed to fail, what would have happened?  End sidetrack.

One thing I know that President Bush would never say: "We can absorb another terrorist attack."

That is a far cry from: "never again."

In case your interested ... other conservative reaction to the above line from President Obama:
American Thinker
Hot Air
Washington Examiner

There's tons more, on both sides.

It just doesn't sit right with me.  It may be true that no terrorist attack will ever destroy the United States of America, and that we will always perservere and stand tall and be free.  However, as the leader of the free world who took an oath to protect and defend me and my country, I'd like to hear more about his defense strategies, and less about how such things are absorbed.
