Restaurant in Paris

From Paris, France
After we got back from Europe in the Fall of 2008, I wrote up a tale of our adventure there, but I didn't talk about one of my favorite memories.  This little restaurant, which I can't remember the name of, on our first night in Paris.  We were exhausted, and still jet lagged, and had walked around the city all day long.  It was probably 4PM, so the restaurant was near empty.  And we had wine and I can't remember what else.  Oh and we had stopped at a CVS type store and bought bandaids for my blistered feet!

We sat here for a long time, looking through pictures, looking at French words and marveling at how rude the waiter was.

There was a man, sitting across the restaurant from us, counting coins and putting them into jars.  We decided this man was working on balancing the French budget, as it was very serious businesses, and he was very engrossed in it.

It was such a lovely evening, in a lovely city, on a lovely vacation.  I remember the entire trip fondly, and Lewis found cheap tickets to Brussels if you traveled between now and December 15th.  If Lewis's job was different, and the timing was different, I would be so tempted!

Several things I remember about our trip, visiting with Tina and Allen, running through Paris after dinner, and eating at this little restaurant and drinking wine and walking back to the hotel, exhausted, but just so happy to be there.

Such a happy memory to have!  I'm so grateful I had the opportunity to go!
